RESEARCH PROPOSAL BLUEPRINT

A good RP should the follow the similar structure as like a scientific article. You have to adjust the content as per your word/page limit set by institution.

Abstract

Concisely explain what’s the need of the current research, preceded by a small literature. If possible, add novelty. What’s gonna make your research unique. Should contain the methodology/techniques/model to be used. What results/outcomes are expected.

Introduction

Start with the global scenario of the issue, narrow down to continent level, then India, then your specific area. Support your claims with facts and figures, connect dots. Reference is necessary. Re-iterate again Novelty. Should contain the methodology/techniques/model to be used. What results/outcomes are expected… in the last section of intro.

in around half the page or a bit longer

Literature Review

A brief literature review of all the relevant published stuffs, then narrow it down as to explain that’s why I am planning to pursue the current research & objectives.

in around another half page

Objectives & Hypotheses

List down all your objective and hypotheses in a concise manner.

Why the current research?

Re-iterate again why in a bulleted form.

Database & Methodology

Take one whole page to write this. Write in detail about the methods, models, algorithms, data sources, as to which data to use with which model to achieve which objective. Each objective may have each methodology to explain. References are mandatory.

Include about the Study Area too in this section. If possible, including a small map of study area and a methodology flowchart will greatly enhance your RP.

Expected result/outcomes

Write the expected outcome and their interpretation, you may support your writing my discussing like xxx et. al. 2020 has applied this and got that, it would be interesting to see how this models/methods/technique will prove in the study area… or devise any own statement to make the discussion significant.

Conclusion/Policy Implication

Conclude your proposal with main stuffs such why & how the current research aims to solve a problem or contribute to existing knowledge. And how will it be beneficial for the society/managers/local people/researchers alike…

in around a half page

References

in any one standard consistent style with DOI

for whoever in need. Also here is another nice template that I recommend.
